Veronica Melis considers herself an artistic “midwife“ – a facilitator who helps others find their own path and develop their personal artistic vision. Driven by a passion for teaching, Veronica Melis has been sharing her love for the stage since the beginning of the 90s, teaching around the world in universities, theatre, dance schools and circus schools. Her approach is based on the practice and experience of a thirty-year career as a dancer, actress, creator, director and choreographer throughout different cultures and audiences.
Through a methodology of philosophical, cultural and aesthetic research she leads her students to excel in expressive accuracy and a refined aesthetic form, alive and vibrant with emotion.
The awareness of the body, the channelling of emotional energy, the creation of the imagination, the ability to listen, fostering artistic and human curiosity are some of the main focuses of Veronica’s teaching. Her mentoring experience ranges from urban dance to theatre; she has taught to a variety of students, from professionals to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
